Praise- Day 12

Praise God that He is sovereign!

When times are tough we can find it hard to say God is sovereign.
If He is- why is there so much pain in the world?  If he is in control- why is the world such a mess?

Habakkuk 3:17-19 speaks to that lament:
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the field produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen, and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my saviour. The sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights

Though we face trials of many kinds on earth, He is still my Savior.
Though we don’t know when our last breath will be nor understand why things happen the way they do- He is still Sovereign.

Winter may last a season but spring is coming. Giving way to new life. The world is u predicable and satan is always at work trying to draw our attention from God. He is cunning and if you’re not careful you’ll trade your soul for dust

God is able to give us everything we’ve ever wanted- to make utopia for us in a sense- but then what will we learn? How can our character be challenged? How do we know if our faith is real? The absence of trials only leads to a facade of safety.

Our real safety is in putting our hope in what happens after this short time on earth. Nothing here will last. But if we hope in the Lord He will renew us day by day

Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

Lord give us your strength day by day- let us look to you and trust that you have our future in your hands.
