DAY TWENTY SEVEN - SINGING IN THE RAIN

I have come across people in the world who like to turn a dark day into a sunshiny one. These are the kind of people that are nice to surround yourself with. They are the glass half-full kind of people, the positive thinkers, the people who look on the bright side of life.

Do you think these kind of people have bad days? Of course they do! In a world with a lot of hardship and hate, I don't think anyone escapes that! I think it's beneficial not only to others but to yourself to try and be a positive uplifting person. This doesn't mean you can't be true to yourself, or that you have to have fake emotions. But sometimes I wonder if we waste too much of our time being frustrated or angry rather than embracing what life is throwing at you.

So many people have SO MUCH baggage - present company included! We have all been hurt before. It is awful and it will probably happen again. But what can we do to look past it? What can we do to overcome? How can we make every effort to make peace? Are we accountable for our words? Are we accountable for our actions? Why spend our efforts on being angry with someone or something rather than letting it go? Being bitter is an awful way to live.

The best kind of stories are the ones where relationships are restored so that healing can begin. It takes guts to admit when you are wrong, and guts to forgive when someone has wronged you. The commitment to the relationship is everything.

Imagine a place where people are allowed to make mistakes - where people don't feel judged or condemned. A place where people feel they belong. A place with vision and passion. A place with care and purpose. A place where God's love resides.

This kind of place has to start with me. Not with someone else. Me.
I can choose to be the positive one. I can choose to take the high road.

I can choose to sing in the rain.
