Echuca - Bless you!



Leigh took me away for the weekend up to Echuca. Well really Leigh's brother Mark needed us to bring up the boat for him and his mates who were "celebrating" another school year-end there. They had rented a houseboat for the week, and were floating down the Murray River, and we were to bring the other boat up so that they could water ski.

So we took this opportunity to be on holiday away from home! We stayed in a little cabin beside the Murray River and even got on a steamer the next day to go for a little "tourist adventure". Us and 50 old very lovely, people...Man, I love holidays!

Thankfully it was too cold to water ski with the boys, as I'm still a little paranoid to hop into the river (brown from mud), not knowing what you might come across in there - Crocodiles, snakes, eels, dead bodies...who knows!!!

Anyways, we didn't go water skiing with the boys! whew! And Leigh and I had a great time otherwise. Later Leigh took me and his sister Sarah to a clear lake hidden in a grove of trees, only known to locals, called Blue lake. Here I was able to swim happily.

You DIDN'T go waterskiing??? WHY? Don't miss an opportunity to WATERSKI in Australia!!!!! Why would you DO that??????

So I just went over to ebay and then it dawned on me. I would have went...then I would have blown my knee and had to go to the Aussie hospital. So maybe I would have just volunteered to spot?

I really hoped that you would have gone for a ski. But anyway, we had fun up there.

I'm glad that our problem gave you and Leigh the chance to get away for a while.

I've joined an awesome choir called Burstin' with Broadway. It is so much fun cause it's open to anyone that wants to be a part of a choir for fun, and all the songs that we sing are Broadway type musicals. We only meet once a week, and throughout the week we have a CD to practice with (many of the choir members actually can't read music) But it's so amazing to see how excited everyone is to be a part of this choir and how surprised they are at themselves for what they have accomplished. Somedays it's surprises me to. In the photo you will see some of the compilations we are singing this season. The Art of Making Mistakes

  I don't know if you have ever struggled with your "bits n pieces" of art being good enough for general public viewing.  I love to draw doodley art/tangles/words... mindlessly on bits of paper especially while watching TV or listening to music.  I would never classify it as "fine" art.  I do it to relax - and because I'm  trying to slow down, I'll often make errors in the process from impatience or distraction. They are far from perfect. Not poetically beautiful. Not necessarily powerful or inspirational.  And are littered with mistakes. A few weeks ago, I saw my talented son draw a beautiful picture and half way through, throw it in the bin.  I asked him why he would throw away such a beautiful piece of work and he grunted "too many mistakes" and then "Its not how I imagined it to look." Oh boy - did I relate!   We want to hide our mistakes or start over... forget that we were so stupid to make such a big blunder in the first place.
