Introducing...

Here is Jason and his new Mexican bonita Blanca! She is wonderful. They are both visiting this week and came with some exciting news! They are engaged! We are so delighted. Blanca is a wonderful woman - and met Jason onboard the Doulos ship.
It has been a fun few days, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the family.



Also we welcome Matthias Elias...our cousin Rina and her husband Carl had a beautiful baby boy this week. He sure is a cutie pie, very peaceful, and sleepy. What a wonderful celebratory week we are having!

Leigh and Angie, are you crazy, your Mum will cry or go crazy[crazier] or something when she see's this photo. Next time take a photo of the baby with their Mum or Dad.Congratulations to Jason and Blanca, that's great news.

so cool, i remember when you were telling me he had a girlfriend! recently i have been thinking about how much i loved living with you and leigh...so much fun hanging out...it really felt like home...and i also want to know, when will there be a little oliver??

Angie, have I taught you NOTHING??? YOu simply do NOT put picture of your (cutie pie) hubby holding that (cutie pie) baby unless you WANT that can of worms and all the questions FLYING at you. Seriously, either I didn't teach you well or you have an annoucnement of your own pending. And if it's the second you better tell me personally.

But one day!!! Anyways, Ross is right, I should be more careful with pictures like that on the blog. It honestly was the best picture we had of the little one, and Leigh looks so cute holding him!

Burstin' With Broadway!

I've joined an awesome choir called Burstin' with Broadway. It is so much fun cause it's open to anyone that wants to be a part of a choir for fun, and all the songs that we sing are Broadway type musicals. We only meet once a week, and throughout the week we have a CD to practice with (many of the choir members actually can't read music) But it's so amazing to see how excited everyone is to be a part of this choir and how surprised they are at themselves for what they have accomplished. Somedays it's surprises me to. In the photo you will see some of the compilations we are singing this season. We will soon be singing our pieces in some elite places like the local old folks home...and our final concert will be June 10/06, at a United church in North Vancouver. Click here for the website!

The Art of Making Mistakes

  I don't know if you have ever struggled with your "bits n pieces" of art being good enough for general public viewing.  I love to draw doodley art/tangles/words... mindlessly on bits of paper especially while watching TV or listening to music.  I would never classify it as "fine" art.  I do it to relax - and because I'm  trying to slow down, I'll often make errors in the process from impatience or distraction. They are far from perfect. Not poetically beautiful. Not necessarily powerful or inspirational.  And are littered with mistakes. A few weeks ago, I saw my talented son draw a beautiful picture and half way through, throw it in the bin.  I asked him why he would throw away such a beautiful piece of work and he grunted "too many mistakes" and then "Its not how I imagined it to look." Oh boy - did I relate!   We want to hide our mistakes or start over... forget that we were so stupid to make such a big blunder in the first place.
