First Stop - Seattle


And so we are off on our Mexican journey. Our first stop being in Seattle. We took a 3 hour bus ride here from Vancouver, and other than the doggy immigration officer who seemed to like the smell of my suitcase, our trip was uneventful. Even though I have nothing to worry about there's something a little nerve wracking about an immigration dog itching his face on your luggage. I think he secretly had it in for me, knowing my dog allergies. The officer told us that he was looking for some treats. I only have make-up in my suitcase - will you take a lipstick treat?

Tonight we stay in Tacoma and tomorrow at the break of dawn we board the 1st of 4 plane rides to Monterrey.

Off we go...

The Big 3- Oh!

I can hardly believe the big day has come and gone - the big 3-oh! Fortunately I have been informed by many that 30 is the new 20 so, I'm doing good then!...There have been no major old age mishaps - like losing my vision, having a bad hip, arthritis, or a desire to watch Matlock - I am in good condition!!! While at home my parents/family made a great dinner and gave me a few great presents like a new calendar, the movie Big Fish, Foot lotions, etc. and some cash. It was great to spend an evening with them celebrating. Also Leigh's parents, brother, and sister sent me some money to buy a guitar so now I am looking into that a bit more to see what would suit me best. I am so blessed. With a little bit of the money that I got, I went to Canadian Tire and bought a mini drawer thing used for screws, and nails, etc. and made it into a jewelry box for all my necklaces, and earrings, etc. It's fabulous! My actual birthDAY was amazing too... It all started with some yummy eggs...

Happy 30th Leigh!

As Leigh turned the big 3-0 this week, I wanted to do something really special for him, especially because of all the things he's been doing for me! Of course being 34 weeks pregnant makes it difficult to plan anything big, which is just as well, as he never wanted to have a huge party anyway. However we did manage to have a surprise b'day lunch on Sunday - and his entire family (and a few others) were able to be with him to celebrate. It was so wonderful to have the whole family together again. We started at Lazy Moe's where the quantities of food overwhelm you... Following lunch, we gathered at Ross and Carlene's for cake and presents. Carlene made an incredible mud cake which I have to admit I tried...twice. We were able to surprise Leigh with a gift voucher from a bunch of his friends and family from all over the world, for RED BALLOON , which is a website that allows you to pick from a wide variety of FUN experiences.
