SNOW"PEOPLE" FUN

Image
Leigh and I have been having a great time here on the farm, mostly catching up on post-wedding duties (ie: writing cards, cleaning out our boxes from the basement, etc) and as well, we have had some time to spend with my nieces and nephew and the rest of the family. The weather has been fabulous here reaching a sunny +5 allowing for perfect snow"people" building weather. This week Uncle Leigh and I, Evee and Jakee, enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of play in the snow building a VERY big Snowgirl, and a skinny minny Snowboy. We had so much fun. Even funnier would be the spectacle we were making of ourselves trying to get the balls of snow on top of one another! Both Uncle Leigh and I would try and lift at the same time, (and Jake and Evee tried too!) Didn’t work!!! Then we tried using a wood ramp to roll the snowball on top, but the ramp broke!!! Then, we attempted putting it on in two pieces, which crushed the snowball below!!!! So in the end, we had to settle for a slightl

Here we are in Jasper, visiting my aunt and uncle and cousins here. The young one is my cousin's kid, Hannah - she is adorable. We've had a beautiful day, Canyon Crawling, and enjoying the beautiful sites of Jasper Alberta.

My 2nd 29th Birthday!

Wade and Jo held a birthday party for me when we returned back to Vancouver. Ben Parsons who is returning to Ireland to get married soon, was there to celebrate as well as longtime friend Ralph(ie). Here is a great photo of Soph, who being very hungry, went to the cupboard, grabbed herself a treat, and when no one would open it for her to respect her mother's wishes, chose to eat the whole bar wrapper and all. Wade made a fantastic Philly Cheesesteak and fries, and Jo made me a fabulous Australian dessert Chocolate Ripple Cake (made from ingredients sent all the way from Ben Coombe in Australia!) We had a fabulous night together. Thanks Wade and Jo for another great night!

Cumberland, Vancouver Island

Image
Leigh and I had the chance to visit my cousin Devinder and wife, Marussia, Auntie Marleen and Uncle Narsinghs' new place in Cumberland on Vancouver Island this week. My parents flew out to meet us there too. We had a great time, checking out their new place and the plans they have for it, as well as meeting their new chocolate lab, Kona, and playing Cranium! Dev and Reesh are soon to be parents, and we are excited to meet the newest member soon. We were glad to help them out a bit in their new place as Reesh was on complete bedrest and Devinder was busy laying hardwood floor in their living room. We are hoping and praying that she carries to full term and has a safe and healthy delivery. Check out her blog for the latest updates. We also saw cousin Christie, Nate, and their 3 beautiful children. Afterwards my parents, and Leigh and I took the ferry back to Vancouver, and spent a few days there visiting friends, and showing them our place and around our YWAM base.

MY BIRTHDAY!

Image
I had so much fun on my birthday! I first woke up to a wonderful breakfast of coffee, eggs, and bacon and pineapple. Leigh gave me a bunch of wonderful gifts: Hawaiian women calendar, necklace, cuff, and magnet. Afterwards, he took me to the Polynesian Cultural Centre where 7 different polynesian villages were represented. In each village you'd learn about their culture, and see wonderful presentations that included the history of the people, and their ways. I crowned myself queen for the day, with a Hawaiian head piece, and Leigh and I got fake tattoos for fun! During the day you could wander around to these different villages and see the different ways that people lived. Throughout all of the villages a river flowed, and a parade of dancers were found floating down to the wonderful sounds of drums and guitars and/or ukuleles. At Supper time, we attended a LUAU - We were given real flower leis which were beautiful and we ate a bunch of yummy different types of food includin

A Little bit of Hawai'i

Image
I know it's been awhile since I've written anything, but my hubby and I are enjoying a relaxing and fun holiday/honeymoon on the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawai'i. Here's a few pics from our time so far here. There will be more photos to come of my big birthday celebration at the Polynesion Cultural Centre. We stayed at a very nice hotel 2 blocks from the beach with a big swimming pool and cabana bar beside it. We celebrated the New Year watching the sun set on the beach and later on saw a grande display of fireworks! It hs been so beautiful and relaxing here. I'd recommend this holiday to anyone.
