He Brought Me to His Banqueting Table

Our Easter worship night was a SUCCESS! Everyone involved was such a blessing as I really felt that everyone strove for excellence. The music was great, the ambience was beautiful, and people's lives were touched. Thank you Lord!

Hardly anyone showed up, but we still felt that we were to present the evening with excellence. We invited one of the guys who sleeps on our doorstep and later on in the evening, he gave a committment to Christ. Another woman from a local church, said she'd come and get him the next morning for church and Easter lunch. We are currently looking for housing for him.

He was saying that every time the band sang, he had chills up and down his spine, and that he couldn't figure out why he was crying so much. We spent time talking together, and I was able to pray with him, and share with him about the Holy Spirit.

Also, many of our staff lives were touched as we watched the movie the Passion of the Christ, meditated on the stations of the Cross, worshiped with our whole hearts, had Communion, and then a big rave/ FEAST!!!!

God was evidently there, and many of our staff broke through and overcame personal things as well. Thanks to all who were involved!

Burstin' With Broadway!

I've joined an awesome choir called Burstin' with Broadway. It is so much fun cause it's open to anyone that wants to be a part of a choir for fun, and all the songs that we sing are Broadway type musicals. We only meet once a week, and throughout the week we have a CD to practice with (many of the choir members actually can't read music) But it's so amazing to see how excited everyone is to be a part of this choir and how surprised they are at themselves for what they have accomplished. Somedays it's surprises me to. In the photo you will see some of the compilations we are singing this season. We will soon be singing our pieces in some elite places like the local old folks home...and our final concert will be June 10/06, at a United church in North Vancouver. Click here for the website!

The Art of Making Mistakes

  I don't know if you have ever struggled with your "bits n pieces" of art being good enough for general public viewing.  I love to draw doodley art/tangles/words... mindlessly on bits of paper especially while watching TV or listening to music.  I would never classify it as "fine" art.  I do it to relax - and because I'm  trying to slow down, I'll often make errors in the process from impatience or distraction. They are far from perfect. Not poetically beautiful. Not necessarily powerful or inspirational.  And are littered with mistakes. A few weeks ago, I saw my talented son draw a beautiful picture and half way through, throw it in the bin.  I asked him why he would throw away such a beautiful piece of work and he grunted "too many mistakes" and then "Its not how I imagined it to look." Oh boy - did I relate!   We want to hide our mistakes or start over... forget that we were so stupid to make such a big blunder in the first place.
