Well...
It's been the best time that I've ever had on the farm. It's been busy - but so much fun...hanging out with my nieces and nephews and planning this gigantic thing we are calling a wedding.

Small towns...so weird. My friend Jaime put out some boxes at the local grocery store, the drug store, and local convenience store where people have opportunity to just shove money in there for Leigh and I as good wishes...I've noticed that they are getting full!!

Also, any neighbour is willing to give you anything of themselves that you could ever want or need...and this in the middle of harvest. it's so incredible to be so so blest!

And now the deadline is done RSVP...and I acutally have most of my responses in! pretty good.

Leigh's been busy building my brothers' house...and I've been helping mom bake and cook, and clean Like never before...and there is wedding planning going on in between.

Hi ange, ya I am insane...in the membrane! it was pretty sad when i left tonight. I cried and made lindsey cry too. the only traces of me in the house are a box of cereal, some old cantalope and a used tea bag sitting in a dirty dish. sigh. those were the days....

I've joined an awesome choir called Burstin' with Broadway. It is so much fun cause it's open to anyone that wants to be a part of a choir for fun, and all the songs that we sing are Broadway type musicals. We only meet once a week, and throughout the week we have a CD to practice with (many of the choir members actually can't read music) But it's so amazing to see how excited everyone is to be a part of this choir and how surprised they are at themselves for what they have accomplished. Somedays it's surprises me to. In the photo you will see some of the compilations we are singing this season. We will soon be singing our pieces in some elite places like the local old folks home...and our final concert will be June 10/06, at a United church in North Vancouver. Click here for the website!

The Art of Making Mistakes

  I don't know if you have ever struggled with your "bits n pieces" of art being good enough for general public viewing.  I love to draw doodley art/tangles/words... mindlessly on bits of paper especially while watching TV or listening to music.  I would never classify it as "fine" art.  I do it to relax - and because I'm  trying to slow down, I'll often make errors in the process from impatience or distraction. They are far from perfect. Not poetically beautiful. Not necessarily powerful or inspirational.  And are littered with mistakes. A few weeks ago, I saw my talented son draw a beautiful picture and half way through, throw it in the bin.  I asked him why he would throw away such a beautiful piece of work and he grunted "too many mistakes" and then "Its not how I imagined it to look." Oh boy - did I relate!   We want to hide our mistakes or start over... forget that we were so stupid to make such a big blunder in the first place.
