Rewards



This past week, I had one of the greatest priveleges of all time. I was asked to teach at our summer mission adventures program. It was quite an adventure.

I think this is one of the best teaching times that I've ever had!!! I am seeing more and more non-Christian kids coming along with youthgroups, and this summer already we have seen a number of kids come to know Christ as their personal Saviour!! woo hoo! This week God gave me such an incredible and specific message for these kids, to know of their value and worth, to know that they have a passion and purpose and most of all that they were bought at a price. We saw young men stand and declare warfare on places such as India, Nepal, and Ethiopa. Asking the Lord to move in these nations. By the end of the program, we had many young people hear and understand that God speaks to them. 6 people exclaimed that they have been called to specific nations, and one person stated the WORLD!! I suggested they get started! God is so good. Thank you for your prayers

Burstin' With Broadway!

I've joined an awesome choir called Burstin' with Broadway. It is so much fun cause it's open to anyone that wants to be a part of a choir for fun, and all the songs that we sing are Broadway type musicals. We only meet once a week, and throughout the week we have a CD to practice with (many of the choir members actually can't read music) But it's so amazing to see how excited everyone is to be a part of this choir and how surprised they are at themselves for what they have accomplished. Somedays it's surprises me to. In the photo you will see some of the compilations we are singing this season. We will soon be singing our pieces in some elite places like the local old folks home...and our final concert will be June 10/06, at a United church in North Vancouver. Click here for the website!

The Art of Making Mistakes

  I don't know if you have ever struggled with your "bits n pieces" of art being good enough for general public viewing.  I love to draw doodley art/tangles/words... mindlessly on bits of paper especially while watching TV or listening to music.  I would never classify it as "fine" art.  I do it to relax - and because I'm  trying to slow down, I'll often make errors in the process from impatience or distraction. They are far from perfect. Not poetically beautiful. Not necessarily powerful or inspirational.  And are littered with mistakes. A few weeks ago, I saw my talented son draw a beautiful picture and half way through, throw it in the bin.  I asked him why he would throw away such a beautiful piece of work and he grunted "too many mistakes" and then "Its not how I imagined it to look." Oh boy - did I relate!   We want to hide our mistakes or start over... forget that we were so stupid to make such a big blunder in the first place.
