Skyhigh Anniversary


It's been 1 YEAR!!! since our fabulous wedding day!

Remember the family, friends, parties, baking, cooking, planning, organizing, buying, setting up, and pumpkin picking? Wow! I can't believe it's been a year...


Well, Leigh has outdone himself again in making our anniversary special. This year we had to celebrate a day early as we are planning on leaving for a promotional road trip for Texas tomorrow.

Well, to plan ahead, Leigh skimmed money from here and there when I wasn't looking, to pay for a wonderful evening. He decided he wanted it to be "skyhigh" evening...


We stayed in a beatiful hotel downtown - The Sheraton Wall Centre - which was gorgeous - overlooking English Bay, the mountains, and downtown...Here's a view of what our room sort of looked like...












And then he took me to a great restaurant (42 floors high) called Cloud 9 - a revolving restaurant that overlooks the entire city - you travel a full circle over an evening meal (about 1.5 hours)
Spectacular views. Leigh enjoyed lamb, and I opted for some Japanese fish thing
It was so good!


I then had Leigh reach into my purse to get something out for me??
And guess what he found?
Yes! A Present!
A new wedding band. It was fun to surprise him with a gift that he wasn't expecting (thanks to our buddy who helped us purchase it!)

The next morning we enjoyed a lavish breakfast in bed...and reminisced about life, marriage, and everything else under the sun.

We were so annoyed that we didn't bring our camera with us, but I'm sure we will remember this time together for a long time to come!

It was definitely a skyhigh time in my life!

ange, i sent you and leigh an anniversary card but it came back today cause the address that i got for the new ywam van base didnt work or something? sorry...i was made cause i spent all this time on this card the and the right words...and it came back...any clue what the right address is???

I've joined an awesome choir called Burstin' with Broadway. It is so much fun cause it's open to anyone that wants to be a part of a choir for fun, and all the songs that we sing are Broadway type musicals. We only meet once a week, and throughout the week we have a CD to practice with (many of the choir members actually can't read music) But it's so amazing to see how excited everyone is to be a part of this choir and how surprised they are at themselves for what they have accomplished. The Art of Making Mistakes

  I don't know if you have ever struggled with your "bits n pieces" of art being good enough for general public viewing.  I love to draw doodley art/tangles/words... mindlessly on bits of paper especially while watching TV or listening to music.  I would never classify it as "fine" art.  I do it to relax - and because I'm  trying to slow down, I'll often make errors in the process from impatience or distraction. They are far from perfect. Not poetically beautiful. Not necessarily powerful or inspirational.  And are littered with mistakes. A few weeks ago, I saw my talented son draw a beautiful picture and half way through, throw it in the bin.  I asked him why he would throw away such a beautiful piece of work and he grunted "too many mistakes" and then "Its not how I imagined it to look." Oh boy - did I relate!   We want to hide our mistakes or start over... forget that we were so stupid to make such a big blunder in the first place.
