So our friends Jax and Stu are here - and they are pretty awesome. In order to bring a little "Australia" to Stu (who is Australian), I took a chance at making Lamingtons for my FIRST time...from an online recipe...not bad! Also there is no shortage of food here...check out this BIG CHICKEN!! ha ha!

We have finally arrived in Canada, and are now about to settle into bed (33 hrs after setting out on this journey) It has been an eventful trip. To start off, when we got to the United Airlines check in counter, the lady asked Leigh if he had filled out a form for entry into the US - now this is not United's problem, but it does however frustrate me on many levels. Apparently it's a new thing they've set into place and thankfully after spending "mega-money" at an internet kiosk in the airport, was granted his visa and despite warning it could take up to 72hrs for approval, he was allowed to finally check in. The United check in lady happily reported to us that we had been upgraded to economy plus - "wow," we thought - "what a blessing!" It wasn't long before we realised that this was not a blessing at all. We were stuck in the centre aisle in the middle 2 seats between 2 very large men. One man was soooo obese that he took up 2 seats....

It has been ages since I last wrote, but there seems to be so much in me that I just need to get out - writing is a therapy for me. I was "blogged-out" for awhile as I kept a fairly "regular" record for a number of years, but now I miss not seeing my journey - seeing my life chronicled. And honestly it's time to get my brain functioning again. In some ways the recent pass was nice to keep private but I also know that blogging my journey with others can help keep those far away from me, connected. I'm addicted to facebook which has taken precedence over the blog, but although it has kept me connected to many friends and family members, there hasn't been the sharing of my personal story from my perspective... And so, as I get ready to travel to Canada - I figure this season is the time to begin again - A rebirth if you will....and that has more connotations than I care to share now.
